John F. Emmel, M.D. did his undergraduate work at Stanford University where he received a B.A. degree in Biological Sciences. He attended medical school and received his M.D. degree at the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine. Following an internship in internal medicine at Children’s Hospital in San Francisco, he took a three-year Residency in Dermatology at Wadsworth V.A. Hospital and U.C.L.A. Medical Center. Dr. Emmel was board certified in dermatology in 1976. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, and is a member of the Pacific Dermatologic Association, the Riverside County Medical Association, and the California Medical Association. He began his dermatology practice in Hemet as an associate of Dr. Daniel Straub in 1975.
Dr. Emmel also has had a life-long interest in lepidopterology (the study of butterflies and moths) and has published approximately 80 papers, articles, and books on the subject, with special reference to the butterfly fauna of California.
Steve S. Oberemok, M.D. completed his undergraduate work at New York University where he received a B.A. degree. He received the prestigious Founders Day Award and the Honor Scholar Award while Studying at NYU. Dr. Oberemok then attended the State University of New York school of medicine at Brooklyn where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and a member of AOA (National Medical School Honor Society). Following an internship in internal medicine at Montefiore Medical Center of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Dr. Oberemok completed a three year dermatology residency at the State University of New York School of Medicine at Brooklyn where he served as a chief resident. After finishing his residency, Dr. Oberemok completed a Mohs fellowship at Columbia University of New York. Dr. Oberemok is a board certified dermatologist as well as a member of the College of Mohs Surgery and many other national and regional medical organizations. He is also involved in dermatology research and published his work in specialty journals. His interests include: surgical dermatology, skin cancer, cosmetic dermatology and acne.
Susan Stewart, RN, MSN, FNP is a nurse practitioner specializing in dermatology. She has 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry working in office dermatology, women’s health and labor and delivery. She is a registered nurse with advanced education and training in diagnosing and treating illness and patient education. After graduating from the University of Phoenix in 2006, she joined the practice in January, 2007.
Daniel L. Straub, M.D. (Retired) received a B.S. degree in Zoology from the University of California, Berkeley. He attended medical school in Europe, completing his M.D. degree at the University of Basel, Switzerland. After an internship at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona, Dr. Straub spent two years in general practice as a flight surgeon in the U.S. Air Force, stationed in Turkey. His three year residency in dermatology was taken at U.C.L.A Medical Center. After two months volunteering as a dermatologist on the Hope Ship in Ecuador, he opened his practice in Hemet in 1964.
